I was curious about the nearness of the airport to the project.

We feel very strongly that the location of Cypress Villages is
excellent. The boundaries of two paved roads are excellent for all
weather access, and both Maharishi Vedic City and Fairfield are close.
The land is beautiful, and the noise from roads and the airport are
minimal.  The planes are mostly "light and quiet". The
small jets and the lighter aircraft use an approach that does not take
them over the Cypress Villages Land. They are not required to blow
their horns like the trains do around Fairfield!

Airport expansion is unlikely for many reasons.
The airport currently runs a deficit each year and will continue to for
many more to come. Since the by-pass to the Ottumwa area airport is
being completed next year, we will be able to commute there in less
than 25 minutes. Theirs is an airport already capable of handling
regional commercial carriers. It would be a huge expense for Fairfield
to upgrade to the same. Lastly, many predict that airlines are a
diminishing industry, not growing, because airplanes are the least
efficient way to travel on the planet, using more gallons of gasoline
per passenger mile than any other form of transportation.
We remain committed to the success of this location.
